Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. A complex experience, requires complex understanding through the lens of survivors. The "S Word" amplifies the voices of those that have lived through suicide attempts and loss to raise awareness about suicide prevention and alternatives that reach outside the box, with the understanding that suicide is complex and needs to be discussed openly without judgement, shame, threats, discrimination, or coercion. The intersections between race, childhood trauma, sexual orientation, and treatment approach/attitudes are explored.
